University has accommodation options for returning students

Victoria University of Wellington is encouraging returning students experiencing accommodation difficulties because of high demand on rental properties to contact the University to discuss short- and long-term options in its own accommodation.

The University offers a wide range of accommodation, comprising 3,257 beds in total for 2019—one of the highest provisions in the country, says Chief Operating Officer Mark Loveard.

“We have some spaces available in both halls of residence and apartments and encourage students to contact our accommodation team,” says Mr Loveard.

“We also encourage them to read Victoria University of Wellington Students’ Association’s invaluable flatting guide.

“Victoria University of Wellington is actively increasing its number of beds. We have added 240 beds under management for 2019 and are working to add 400–600 rooms over the next three years by extending existing accommodation buildings. The new rooms will be primarily apartment-style living suitable for returning students.”
