Te Toki a Rata and the Rutherford House extension have each won an NZIA annual Local Architecture Award in the Education category. The awards honour the best new architecture in each of the NZIA's eight regional branches.
The New Zealand Institute of Architecture runs the annual awards to recognise and promote excellence in architecture.
“We are proud that these two major campus redevelopments have been recognised for their excellence in architecture,” said Stephen Costley, Victoria’s Director Property Services. “Both projects reflect the close and positive relationship that the Victoria Campus Development team had with the architects – Warren and Mahoney Architects and Athfield Architects Limited.
“Together we have created spaces which contribute to a first-class student experience and to being a globally ranked capital city university.”
