Creative writing graduates on Ockham NZ Book Awards longlist

The 2017 longlist includes eight of our MA and PhD graduates

MA and PhD Creative Writing graduates feature prominently, once again, on the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards longlist. The majority were published by Victoria University Press (VUP), which has also had another impressive showing. Read the full longlist.

Our graduates make up half the longlist for the Acorn Foundation Fiction Prize:

Airini Beautrais (Flow, VUP) and Hannah Mettner (Fully Clothed and So Forgetful, VUP) are longlisted for the Poetry Award, and Redmer Yska is on the Royal Society Te Apārangi Award for General Non-Fiction for A Strange Beautiful Excitement: Katherine Mansfield's Wellington 1888-1903 (Otago University Press)
