There is a wide range of support services available to you while you're a student at Victoria University of Wellington.

Victoria University of Wellington offers a wide range of student services and support, IT support for students, so if you ever run into a problem, there'll be someone who can help.

Āwhina - Māori student success

Āwhina will connect you with mentoring and student support during your University journey. They are based at 14 Kelburn Parade, but are currently staying connected with our community online. You can reach them by emailing awhina@vuw.ac.nz or calling 04-463 5987.

Support for Māori and Pasifika students

Te Kawa a Māui is committed to fulfilling our obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi. There is a range of services in place to support Māori and Pasifika students.

As a Māori Studies student you are an important part of the University's student life. You'll feel at home at Te Herenga Waka Marae.

Students are encouraged to make good use of the many services available to you—statistics indicate that there is a much higher success rate for students that access them.

Māori and Pasifika liaison staff at Te Kawa a Māui

The Māori and Pasifika Liaison Staff in the School are responsible for ensuring the best interests of the students are looked after.

Our Liaison staff are approachable, friendly and committed to the success of students.

Study Wānanga

Study wānanga run over a week in trimester 1 and 2, to help students prepare for end of trimester examinations. Māori and Pasifika students are invited to attend specific sessions relevant to certain courses.

Students with disabilities

Our School is committed to ensuring all students have equal opportunities to resources and a successful academic journey while studying at Victoria University of Wellington.

His role is to create a supportive and inclusive environment for students with impairments by providing a link between their programme and Disability Services, thereby ensuring students receive quality and appropriate support and advice.
