I provide support to staff and students of languages, advise on our facilities, strive to improve our collection and services, and organise events related to language learning at Victoria. I am particularly interested in how aspects of cognitive linguistics such as metaphor and metonymy can be applied to second language learning. I also enjoy learning about the origins of words and phrases, as they reveal a lot about our shared thinking patterns as social beings.
