Calling for volunteer translators: Help Clyde Quay School students save their languages
If you are passionate about preserving the linguistic diversity of young Wellingtonians, you may want to consider offering a bit of your time and language knowledge to the 123Tech Project team (Emma, Rossie, Ruiying, QiQi, Maya, and Jasmin, pictured below) from Clyde Quay School.
Last year, they produced an award-winning page on their school website providing information to parents in dozens of languages. This year, their project is to translate students’ stories from English into the 24 languages spoken at the school, and from those 24 languages into English. If you’re keen to help, please check out their poster for a link to the registration form. Alternatively, email them directly on jasmarui@clydequay.school.nz.
