Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Law appointed

Dr Mark Hickford has been appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Law at Victoria.

Mark has a background in commercial law combined with many years of senior management and leadership experience in the public and private sectors, including being in the Prime Minister’s Policy Advisory Group in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet for the past four years. He is a specialist in public law, the Treaty of Waitangi, Crown-Māori relations and natural resources law and has an extensive research and publishing record.

Mark has a history with the Faculty, as he was a member of the Regulatory Reform Project 2011 – 2013 and a teaching fellow.

Mark will take over the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Law on 11 May, 2015.
