Student Printing

What is the Service?

Multi-Functional Device printers (MFDs) are situated across all campuses for students to print course materials, essays and to scan and send documents.

Students can print from any computer on campus including from personal devices on the “Victoria” wireless network. When printing from a Student Computing Lab the nearest available printer will be displayed.

When printing from the Kelburn Central Library Student Computers or using wireless printing, your print job will be uploaded and held on a server for 8 hours. During this time you can collect your print job from any printer with a card reader attached. Simply swipe your Student Identity card and the print job will be released

For Students wanting to print from their own personal devices, browse to the Wireless Printing website and follow the instructions. The print job can be collected at any printer on campus.

Printing is charged per page and students will need to credit their printing account to use this service.

Printing charges for student printers are:

  • Black and White Printing – 10 cents per page, per side
  • Colour Printing – 25 cents per page, per side
  • Scanning/emailing -  No charge

Students can top up their accounts by visiting the Printing Funds Portal which is accessible from any personal device or onsite via the link on all student desktop computers. This service accepts all credit and debit cards, or you can also pay via PayPal.  Money can also be added to your account through a DocuPOS kiosk located at, Pipitea, Te Aro and Kelburn campuses (DocuPOS machines will accept debit cards but not credit cards).

You can check the balance of your printing account via the Printing Funds Portal, on a DocuPOS kiosk or by logging onto a Student Computer and clicking on the Print Balance and Payments icon on the desktop.
