Latin American Academic Achievement Scholarship

The Latin American Academic Achievement Scholarships are awarded to ten high-achieving, well-rounded Latin American students each year. The $5000 scholarships are available to full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students at Victoria. Scholarship recipients who continue to do well in their students can get $5000 per year for up to 3 years of their studies.

Latin American $500 travel scholarship

If you are a new Latin American international student enrolling to study at Victoria in 2017, you will receive a $500 rebate towards your travel while you’re in New Zealand. Contact victoria-international@vuw.ac.nz for more information.

Science Without Borders

The Science Without Borders scholarship programme promotes science, technology and innovation in Brazil by providing international exchange opportunities.

Funded by the Brazilian government, students accepted into the programme are eligible for a scholarship that covers courses fees for up to two semesters (called trimesters at Victoria) of full-time study (60 points per semester, normally 3–4 courses), within a set range of courses.

Entry requirements

Undergraduate study entry requirements:

  • achievement of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, or
  • successful completion of one year of tertiary study at a recognised university.

Undergraduate English requirements:

  • IELTS: minimum overall score of 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5, or
  • TOEFL: minimum overall score of 80 (internet-based test), or
  • Pearson Test of English: minimum score of 58 (with a ‘Communicative’ score of not less than 50), or
  • EPP: minimum final scores of 4,4,4,3.

Study Abroad and exchange entry requirements:

  • one year of Bachelor studies from a recognised institution, and
  • minimum GPA 2.7 (60%/B).

Study Abroad and exchange English requirements:

  • IELTS: minimum overall score of 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5, or
  • TOEFL: minimum overall score of 80 (internet-based test), or
  • EPP: minimum final scores of 4,4,4,3.
