Explore your entrepreneurial ideas through Victoria Entrepreneur Bootcamp and other programmes run by our partners.
Victoria Entrepreneur Bootcamp
We encourage all Victoria University students with an interest in starting a venture to apply for the Victoria Entrepreneur Bootcamp programme. The bootcamp is a 12 week part-time programme where student teams seek to accelerate their business or social venture ideas. Successful applicants receive funding, mentoring, access to venture capital providers, and can apply at the end of the programme to base their company in The Atom Innovation Space. Many students do MGMT 307: Entrepreneurship as preparation for the Bootcamp.
YES (Young Enterprise New Zealand)
Victoria Business School is an advocate of Young Enterprise New Zealand’s programmes for high school students and we welcome former participants as they seek to continue their entrepreneurial journeys. Working with over 1,000 teachers and 1,500 volunteers, YES’s enterprise programmes use a combination of teachers and members of the business community to provide an experience that is both authentic and relevant to change the lives of more than 100,000 students every year.
Venture Up is a start-up accelerator, run by CreativeHQ, specifically targeted at New Zealand’s young people. Venture Up puts 17 to 22 year olds into a collaborative space, surrounds them with mentors, and introduces them to leadership and entrepreneurial skills as they create their own ventures. In 2019, we hosted the Venture Up programme in Wellington at Rutherford House.
Mahuki is an in-residence programme run in a purpose-built innovation space at Te Papa in central Wellington. With a distinctive focus on the culture and heritage sector, the four-month Mahuki programme is the world’s only accelerator located in a national museum. Combining the capital city’s orientation as a centre of creativity with the latest thinking in ideation, validation and design, Mahuki seeks to bring New Zealand’s cultural and heritage innovators together and out to the world.
