His early research interests focused on non-market social interactions, financial crises and housing demand. Eventually they expanded to accommodate policy issues in school-leaving, union wages, New Zealand trade, the country’s consumer price index, and the social costs of pollution.

Publications

Antong obtained his Master of Public Policy and PhD in Economics from Boston College and Harvard University. He is the author of Applied Models in Public Policy (2005) and The Benefits and Wider Costs of Leaving School (2006), co-editor of The New Zealand CPI at 100: History and Interpretation (2014) and a past editor of the Journal of Business and Governance.
