Korea Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow joins the School for 2018

The School of History, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations is pleased to welcome Patrick Flamm as a Postdoctoral Visiting Scholar for 2018.

Patrick Flamm joined HPPI on the 1st of March. He was awarded a Korea Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship and chose to come to Wellington to undertake research on South Korea-New Zealand Antarctic cooperation. He will work with David Capie and is interested in bilateral diplomacy within the Antarctic Treaty System as well as cooperation between polar scientists.

Patrick is originally from Germany and finished his PhD in Asian Studies at the University of Auckland in 2017. His thesis explores the relationship between South Korean national identity narratives and global foreign policy from a constructivist, role theoretical perspective.
