Profile

Janet joined the Health Services Research Centre in 2003. She is a qualitative researcher who has contributed to a wide range of health services research projects, including literature review, policy and programme evaluation, preparation of discussion documents and the 2014 revision of the NZ health system profile produced by the WHO. She is currently working on an Ageing Well National Science Challenge project (‘Life when renting’) and a Health Research Council of NZ funded evaluation of the development and impact of changes in community pharmacy services.

Janet completed her MPH in 2008 with a dissertation about ‘young carers’ in New Zealand and her PhD in 2015 explored the experiences of family carers who manage technical health procedures (such as dialysis or tracheostomy care) at home, both reflecting her interest in family/informal care.
