Your wellbeing and success in the broadest sense is important to us in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences – your lecturers, tutors, management and professional staff. We offer advice and assistance throughout your studies to enhance your experience at Victoria University of Wellington.
The Faculty’s Student and Academic Services Office works closely with student services such as Student Health, Student Counselling, Disability Services, the Māori and Pacific liaison staff, Te Pūtahi Atawhai and Victoria International to ensure that you have access to and are encouraged to use the many student services available.
Facilitating and supporting a diverse learning community is key to who we are as a faculty. We are committed to equity support and to ensuring we provide a safe and supportive learning environment that challenges our students and values the range of experiences and ways of knowing that they bring. We have a range of programmes and activities to ensure all students have equal opportunity to succeed at Victoria, and to contribute to the knowledge we build.
Victoria University’s Student services and support page has a comprehensive list of services offered by the University to support students, including to help you stay well and find your study-life balance. The Victoria University of Wellington Students’ Association (VUWSA) is also available for welfare and representation needs.
The University’s Manage your money webpages offer useful financial information and support, including budgeting advice, criteria for accessing the Hardship fund and eligibility for Student loans and allowances and the accommodation supplement. You can also visit the StudyLink website.
