Welcome to the Wellington Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences—Te Wāhanga Aronui, home to Victoria University of Wellington’s internationally recognised programmes in the humanities, social sciences, and creative arts.

Our faculty is a rich and diverse area of the university. Musicians and filmmakers sit alongside criminologists and historians. Philosophers and classics scholars speak to experts in media and communications. Are you interested in Māori studies, Pacific cultures, creative writing, or languages? How about anthropology and sociology, or theatre? Or politics and international relations? You’ve come to the right place!

This is quite simply a wonderful and eclectic place to study and, for many, a truly life-changing experience.
