About

Wellington Global Exchange allows you to complete part of your degree overseas at one of our partner universities. Discover the benefits of student exchange.

Wellington Global Exchange is a student exchange programme offering you the opportunity to complete one or two trimesters of your degree overseas, while paying your usual Victoria University of Wellington tuition fees. It's aimed toward undergraduate study, but there are postgraduate and MBA opportunities at some of our partner universities.

Although Wellington Global Exchange is perfect for students studying internationally focused degrees, it is also relevant for all fields of study.

Why go on student exchange?

  • Study overseas while earning credit towards your Victoria University of Wellington degree
  • Get overseas tuition without paying international student fees
  • Continue to receive StudyLink assistance
  • Gain independence
  • Experience new cultures and perspectives
  • Learn a new language
  • Broaden your degree and enhance your CV
  • Realise your potential
  • We'll even help you pay for it—all exchange students receive a one-time grant of $1,000.

As New Zealand becomes increasingly interconnected with the world, every employer will value your cross-cultural experiences and your new perspective about New Zealand's place in the world. Exchange helps to foster independence and a global awareness that could not be learned locally, making you more marketable within New Zealand and abroad.
