Description

Finance Minister Grant Robertson recently delivered the Wellbeing Budget 2019 with a focus on achieving outcomes based on the Living Standards Framework. There were significant investments in important areas, including mental health, addressing family and sexual violence, and improving child wellbeing. But will the Wellbeing Budget achieve its broader goals of improving New Zealand’s overall wellbeing?

Join Professor Arthur Grimes and Professor Gregor Coster as they discuss the Wellbeing Budget and some of the challenges it presents.

Professor Grimes holds the Chair of Wellbeing and Public Policy in the School of Government, and is a former chairman and chief economist of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. Professor Coster is Dean of the Faculty of Health and a former district health board chairman and professor of general practice.
