A very warm welcome to the Wellington Faculty of Education—Te Whānau O Ako Pai. Our Faculty is home to Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington’s world class education programmes. Whether you want to be a teacher in early childhood centres or primary or secondary schools, or you want to understand the powerful impact of educational ideas and institutions on society, we have a programme that will help you do that.
You can discover the science of learning and develop a critical awareness of the transformative nature of education. You can gain knowledge to work with youth or in industry, business, or policy, and in a range of caring professions. You can also learn about the role of psychology in education, or train to be an educational psychologist.
Are you interested in issues such as wellbeing, social justice, inclusion, and diversity? Do you want to address the challenges facing young people and our changing world? The Wellington Faculty of Education offers teaching and research expertise across all these areas.

The Wellington Faculty of Education has a long tradition of high-quality teaching, learning, research, and engagement with society.
Nestled in the heart of Wellington, our Faculty reflects the vibrant and diverse character of our city and benefits from a close relationship with its educational settings and agencies. We have a very strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Our initial teacher education programmes are accredited by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand. For those interested in our Educational Psychology programmes, we offer an accredited professional pathway, recognised nationally and internationally.
We aim to develop excellent teachers, practitioners, and scholars. To do this:

- we undertake transformational research, with a focus on teaching, educational psychology, and education studies.
