XIE Yuan

Biography

XIE Yuan is Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC). He was born in Beijing in February 1959, he is married with a daughter. Mr Xie graduated from the university and started as a staff member of the CPAFFC in 1985,   and became the Deputy Director, then Divisional Director of the Department of American and Oceanian Affairs. In 1998, he was appointed as First Secretary for Chinese Embassy in the United State. In 2000, he assumed as Consultant and Divisional Director for the Department of American and Oceanian Affairs, CPAFFC. He was the Deputy Director-General and Director General of the Department of American and Oceanian Affairs, CPAFFC from 2005 to 2013.
