Dr Jason Young
Dr Jason Young is the Acting Director for New Zealand Contemporary China Research Centre, and Senior Lecturer in Political Science and International Relations at Victoria University of Wellington. He is also the Adjunct Research Fellow for the Centre for Oceanian Studies at Sun Yat-sen University. His research interests focus on Chinese politico-economic reform, agricultural development and socioeconomic change in rural China, Chinese foreign policy, East Asian regional integration and New Zealand-China relations. Jason is author of China’s Hukou System (Palgrave 2013) and a number of journal articles and chapters in both English and Chinese as well as a frequent commentator in New Zealand and international media.
