Dr Sharon Lucock

Biography

Sharon is a Beijing girl who came to New Zealand in 2002 soon after completing her first degree from China Agricultural University. Since then she has completed master’s and PhD degrees at Lincoln University, worked as a professional translator and interpreter, married a Kiwi husband, and is a proud mother of two cross-cultural Chiwi boys. Since 2011 she has been lecturing in agricultural management and global food systems at Lincoln University with a particular interest in New Zealand companies working in China. This work ranges across animal and crop-based industries, and from livelihoods on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau through to consumer choices in the big cities. Sharon represents Lincoln University on the Advisory Board of the New Zealand Contemporary China Research Centre, and is a member of New Zealand Asian Leaders.
