China Institute of International Studies Roundtable
The New Zealand Contemporary China Research Centre (NZCCRC) and the Centre for Strategic Studies (CSS) jointly hosted a roundtable with the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS). Leading the delegation Ambassador Qi Zhenhong was joined by Dr Liu Qing, Director, Department for Asia-Pacific Studies, Ms Liang Xue, Research Assistant, Mr Jin Hui, Third Secretary, Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs China and Mr Qu Guangzhou, Political Counsellor, Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China in New Zealand. Ambassador Qi led the Chinese Delegation in productive talks with academics and senior fellows from CSS and NZCCRC.
The roundtable provided an opportunity for experts to share views on a range of issues relevant to the Asia Pacific Region. Topics included the security outlook for the Asia Pacific, the South China Sea, the Korean Peninsula and New Zealand-China relations. [Link to CIIS]
