Background

Dr Prue Holmes is Reader in the School of Education, Durham University; Adjunct Professor, University of Helsinki, Helsinki, Finland; and Guest Professor, Zhejiang Wanli University, Ningbo, China. She teaches and supervises postgraduate students in the areas of international and intercultural education; intercultural communication; and language and culture. Prue has engaged in the following international research projects: principal investigator of an AHRC-funded network grant “Researching Multilingually” (AH/J005037/1) see more) on how researchers draw on their linguistic resources in the research process; co-investigator on the AHRC-funded large grant “Researching multilingually at the borders of language, the body, law and the state” (AH/L006936/1) (see more); research partner in the multilateral EU-funded project “Intercultural resources for Erasmus students and their teachers” (IEREST) (see more); and co-investigator on the Jean Monnet network project “European Identity, Culture, Exchanges and Multilingualism” (EUROMEC) see more. She chairs the International Association of Languages and Intercultural Communication (IALIC) and convenes the annual Cultnet conference at Durham University.
