Staff Promotions

We have great pleasure in announcing two very important academic promotions for our Centre staff: Ron Fischer has been promoted to full Professor and Taciano Milfont has been promoted to Reader/Associate Professor. The promotions will become effective in January 2018.

Professor Ronald Fischer

Associate Professor Ron Fischer is a leading researcher recognised internationally for his work on the role of culture in psychology, especially values, norms and mental health, research methods and statistical techniques for cultural research and the evolutionary function of rituals for cultural maintenance and social bonding. Ron has demonstrated sustained leadership and excellence across all areas of activity required for promotion to professor. Ron is a highly productive researcher with over 150 journal articles, books and book chapters to his name. He publishes in high-quality journals, has a current H index of 49 (Google Scholar), and is receiving close to 1700 citations a year. Ron is an innovative teacher with an excellent attitude towards his students, and an effective postgraduate supervisor. He has received prestigious fellowships and research awards including a Marie Curie Cofund Senior Fellowship and a Marsden Fast Start. Ron is in high demand as a speaker at international conferences and symposiums. His referees were very supportive, attesting to his international standing, and the impact of his research, scholarship and engagement.
