Sad news about the death of Professor Fons van de Vijver
Our CACR whānau is deeply saddened by the news of the recent and sudden death of Professor Fons van de Vijver. Fons had a long and close relationship with the Centre serving on our International Advisory Board for several terms. He served as editor-in-chief of the premier journal (Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology) for years and was honoured with a lifetime career achievement award from the American Psychological Association for his contributions to cross-cultural psychology. He was Emeritus Professor of Cultural psychology at Tilburg University, and held honorary positions at University of Queensland, and North-West University in South Africa. As well as being an international giant in the field of cross-cultural psychology, he was our friend and he will be greatly missed.
