The School of Architecture has identified and responded to the importance of aligning our programmes with the standards of international academic and professional bodies. This is seen in the restructuring of our professional degrees to a three-year undergraduate degree followed by a two-year Masters degree.
Victoria’s Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) in Architecture, combined with the Master of Architecture (Professional) (MArch[Prof]) was awarded accreditation by the New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA) in 2009.
The NZIA is the only professional association for New Zealand's 3,000-plus architects. Its accreditation is the internationally recognised global standard for the country's architecture qualifications.
The Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) in Landscape Architecture, when combined with the Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) was accredited by the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects (NZILA) in 2009.
Our Bachelor of Building Science (BBSc) and Master of Building Science (MBSc) are professionally recognised by the New Zealand Institute of Building (NZIOB). The NZIOB is New Zealand’s professional institute for persons engaged in building practice and building science.
Victoria’s Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) in Interior Architecture and Master of Interior Architecture (MIA) degrees are internationally recognised through their affiliation to the International Federation of Interior Design/Architecture (IFI).
