Success at the Architectural Science Association 2016 conference
Two School of Architecture students were recognised at the Architectural Science Association 2016 conference held in Adelaide in December.
Master of Building Science student Elzine Brasch received the Best Presentation Award and PhD student Faeze Yavari received Best Student Paper.
Elzine’s was for her work using simulation software and other design modelling to look at the thermal and daylight performance of buildings.
Faeze had two talks in the conference: “Alternative housing options for older New Zealanders: the case for a lifecycle study” and “A time-use study of rooms and possible impact on the design of housing for an aging population.”
Emeritus Professor George Baird was also recognised for his contributions to the field of Architectural Science. He was awarded the title Fellow of the Architectural Science Association, one of only six fellows since the association’s inauguration in 1965.
