ARC Advisory Board

Our Advisory Board meets twice annually to discuss the Centre’s activities.

The Antarctic Research Centre Advisory Board meet twice yearly. The purpose of the Advisory Board is to:

  1. Advise on the medium-long term strategic direction of ARC research
  2. Advise on the direction of current research activities
  3. Provide comment to the PVC and Director on the overall performance of the ARC
  4. Provide comment to the PVC and Director on the overall operations of the ARC including finances and links with other institutions

The members of the board are:

  • Craig Cary, Director, New Zealand Antarctic Research Institute
  • Jana Newman, Manager Antarctica and Southern Ocean Unit, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade

  • Gary Wilson, General Manager Strategy, GNS Science
  • James Renwick, Head of School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences, Victoria University of Wellington
  • Prue Williams, General Manager, Science, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
