University Courses

Wai-te-ata Press hosts a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, in addition to workshops and seminars for external educational institutions. Hands-on experience or 'learning by doing' is an integral part of the Press' teaching philosophy. Students have the opportunity to execute individual or group projects, whether letterpress or digital humanities.

The Press has an extensive in-house library of materials supporting the study of book culture as well as examples of fine printing from around the world.

Dr Shep also supervises Master's and PhD theses on a range of topics related to books and print culture as well as digital libraries and digital materiality. Current students include Susann Liebich and Kay Sanderson.
