Introduction

Stephen Cummings is professor of strategy at VMS and visiting professor at MIB, Ecole Nationale des Pont et Chaussees Paris and Ecole Hassania Casablanca, Morocco. He obtained his doctorate from Warwick Business School and is the author of Recreating Strategy (London, 2002), editor of Images of Strategy (Oxford, 2003), and co-author of Microwaving Strategy (Oxford, forthcoming 2005).

He has published on strategy and its links to ethics, history and change in journals such as The Academy of Management Executive, Organization, Deusto Harvard Business Review, Organization Studies, Long Range Planning, Journal of Organizational Change Management and Business Horizons.

He is the VMS director of executive programmes and has developed programmes for a number of corporations including HSBC, GKN Westland, Philips, The Financial Times, Corus and Prudential.
