Introduction
Stephen Cummings is Head of Victoria Management School and Professor of Strategic Management at Victoria University of Wellington, and holds visiting or adjunct positions at Warwick Business School, ENPC Paris, Ecole Hassania Casablanca, the University of Melbourne and Stockholm University. He is the author of a number of books including Recreating Strategy (Sage, 2002), Images of Strategy (Blackwell, 2003), The Strategy Pathfinder (Wiley, 2007) and The Strategy Pathfinder 2: Core Concepts and Live Cases (Wiley, 2011). His book Creative Strategy: Reconnecting Business and Innovation (Wiley, 2010) examines how strategies that create sustainable value require an integrated approach to innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership and organization. He teaches strategy on the undergraduate and MBA programmes as was awarded ‘Outstanding MBA Teacher for 2008/9’ at Warwick Business School. Stephen is also Academic Director of Executive Programmes for VMS and has developed and taught on executive courses for organizations such as Philips, HSBC, The Financial Times, GKN Westland, Prudential, Wellington City Council, Air Services Australia and IRL.
