• Cristian Cuturrufo Group jazz performance at the New Zealand School of Music, 5 March 2009. Cristian Cuturrufo is one of Latin America’s leading jazz musicians and was in New Zealand for the International Jazz Festival. The NZSM performance was organised by the Embassy of Chile and VILLA.
  
  
  
• Victoria University of Wellington and Mexican Government MOU signed, 30 January 2009. The memorandum provides for an annual Chair for a visiting Professor from Mexico from 2010. The agreement was signed by Ambassador Angelica Arce on behalf of the Mexican Government and Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) Roberto Rabel on behalf of Victoria University.
