'Shaking his Hairy Chaps': The Iconography of Bearded Snakes
In 2015, I completed my MA in Classical Studies, which focused on Classical Greek iconography. The Classics programme provided a motivating and supportive environment in which to study, as the staff and other students encourage research to be the very best it can be. As my studies have largely focused on the artefacts of the ancient world , the Classics Museum provided the chance to closely examine a number of artefacts.
My desire to study Classics at postgraduate level wa s heavily influenced by the Greek Field Trip . This trip provided the opportunity to visit numerous sites and see artefacts that I had spent my undergraduate years studying. It is an indescribable feeling to see the buildings and artworks that stand as monuments to past civilizations.
My time at Victoria has enabled me to dev e lop an understanding of the culture s of the ancient Medi terrane an in an e nvironment that str i ves to both support and chal l enge students t o excel.
