English language preparation
If English is not your first language, the University offers two programmes to help you become fluent enough to succeed in your chosen programme of study.
English Proficiency Programme (EPP)
The English Proficiency Programme (EPP) is an intensive English language programme designed for students who have intermediate or advanced knowledge of English where English is their second language.
This programme is 12 weeks of intensive English language study and aims to develop writing, reading, listening and speaking skills for academic study.
The EPP improves your performance in:
- reading and listening to complex information
- taking an active part in discussions
- expressing complex ideas and facts through speech and writing
- becoming an independent learner of English.
This programme is offered three times a year—in March, July and November. Read more about the English Proficiency Programme on the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies website.
