Course planning and advice

Whatever stage of your studies you are at, if you would like support in planning or changing your programme of study, help is available.

Plan your degree with myQual

myQual is a tool to help you plan your degree—you can view the progress of your degree and your majors/minors, including the requirements you've completed, those in progress or still to be started.

Using myQual

You can access this through myVictoria under the myQual tab.

Making changes to your degree or courses

Select the ‘what if’ tab to check what will happen if you want to change your degree or courses.

Check the progress of your degree

The ‘look ahead’ tab allows you to check on the progress of your degree. This is a useful tool to use during enrolment or when adding/dropping courses.

Our liaison officers are available to discuss your first-year plan for study at Victoria. We can answer questions you have about degree, course planning, and admission to Victoria University. Take a look at our tours of the Kelburn campus to get the full experience of Victoria.

Current, returning or transferring students should contact a student adviser at their Faculty office for course advice.

Before your appointment, you can explore the degrees and subjects we offer here at Victoria, think about your career options, and find out how a degree works.

Plan your career

The Careers and Employment team help current students explore career ideas, and the career implications of subject choices, as well as details of specific jobs, employers and postgraduate courses. It is run by experienced professional careers staff (all advisers are members of the Career Development Association of New Zealand).

Book an appointment on CareerHub, give the team a call on 04 463 5393 or email careers-service@vuw.ac.nz.
