Get set up online
Access the online tools you'll need for your courses, plus information about printing and wifi access on campus.
Finding out your username
Your username is printed on the top right of your Confirmation of Study email or form. It is the first six characters of your last name and the first four characters of your first name (eg. smithjohn). If the username already exists, a number will be added (eg. smithjohn1).
Creating your password
You need to set up a password before you can login. A security code will be emailed to you. Once you have the security code, visit our password system and set up your new password.
Using your University email address
You'll be given a university email address that has 10GB of storage and can be accessed through myVictoria.
This email address is the University’s main form of communication with you, so it’s important to check this account regularly. You can forward your Victoria University email to another address to make this easier.
Updating contact information
To update your preferred email address, physical address and contact numbers you can do this in the My Study tab in myVictoria. Keep your contact details up to date so you don't miss out on key information.
Storing your work on myWorkspace
myWorkspace is a secure disc space where you can store personal files. To be safe, save all your files to your H: drive and back them up on a USB.
Printing on campus
You can print on all campuses at a cost of 10 cents per A4 black and white print and 25 cents per A4 colour print.
Students can top up their accounts by visiting a DocuPOS kiosk located at, Pipitea, Te Aro and Kelburn campuses (DocuPOS machines will accept debit cards).
You can check the balance of your printing account on a DocuPOS kiosk or by logging onto a Student Computer and clicking on the Print Balance icon on the desktop.
Using our free wifi
You can log in to our wifi using your own device from most common areas on all campuses, once you've set up your login. Log in using your username and password.
For issues using wireless, visit the laptop clinics on Kelburn or Pipitea campuses.
Contact the IT team if you need help with:
