Sports

We have a range of different sports opportunities available, catering for casual through to competitive users.

Sports leagues

Our social sports leagues are designed specifically for students and a great way to get active in a fun and friendly environment.

We run leagues each trimester for Basketball, Netball and Football. All leagues are up at Kelburn campus; Football is played at Boyd-Wilson Field and Arena, and Basketball and Netball in the Main Gym in the Recreation Centre.

Register

Registrations for Trimester One Leagues open on Monday 6 March. For more information, email Josie Fitzsimons

Entries are accepted on a first in, first served basis and fees must be paid in full when you register.

Organising or joining a team

You can either get your friends together and enter a team or register as an individual and we can put you in a team. This is a great way to meet new, like-minded people.

If you're not a Victoria student you're still welcome to join or register as part of a team—just note the different team criteria on the registration form, as this will determine your fees.

Just Play - casual sports

These sessions are perfect for students who are keen to stay active and meet like-minded people, but don’t want a regular or ongoing commitment.

You can show up on the day, spaces are booked for a range of sports and it is up to the students who attend to arrange friendly games.

  • Badminton - Main gym, Mondays 1–2.30pm
  • Turbo Touch - Main gym, Wednesdays 1pm - 3pm

Competitive sports teams and athletes

If you’re keen on more structured, competitive sporting opportunities, find out if there's a club that can provide you with this in our clubs directory.

We also provide support to high performance athletes that are juggling training and competition demands with academics. Find out more about sponsorship or email Raewyn Clarke.
