Te Rōpū Āwhina

Te Rōpū Āwhina is the on-campus whānau for Māori and Pacific students within the Faculties of Science, Engineering, and Architecture and Design.

Te Rōpū Āwhina provides a mentoring environment where students support each other in their study. Their goal is to produce Māori and Pasifika scientists, engineers, mathematicians, architects, designers, and leaders.

Āwhina was established in 1999, and for the past 16 years they've had a proud history of supporting Maori and Pasifika achievement in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects.

Underpinning Āwhina's successes is the inclusive whānau environment where high expectations, aspirations and achievements, collective success and reciprocity are normalised.

Talk to Āwhina's staff if you're interested in joining.
