Teaching responsibilities

I teach primarily in Biol 114 "Biology of Animals". This is a first year introductory course to biology, and is co-coded as BMSC 114 "Introduction to Human Biology". Its a big class with around 300 students. We cover all major topics of animal biology, but try to have both human and other animal examples in each section. Other undergraduate courses that I teach in include Biol 228 "Animal Diversity" and Biol 328 "Animal Behaviour & Conservation".

The graduate course that I teach in is Biol 425 "Biodiversity". We cover many different areas in this course, including cladistics, nomenclature and species definitions. We also have a major practical component, wherein students make and curate insect collections.

Further information on courses and teaching in the School of Biological Sciences is available here.
