What is Physio?

Physiotherapy is a health care profession concerned with human function and movement and maximising potential.

Physiotherapy involves the treatment, management and prevention of a variety of conditions. These may result from everyday activities/work related conditions and sports injuries.

A physiotherapist works with people of all ages to maintain and promote health, and to restore function and independence.

At Victoria Physiotherapy the physiotherapist:

  • Identifies problems and the management needed
  • Explains the problem
  • Plans exercises to improve strength, mobility and fitness
  • Uses mobilising and manipulative techniques to increase movement in joints and to relieve pain
  • Educates individuals on self management of the problem
  • Educates people on prevention of injury
