Faculty of Architecture and Design Orientation

A welcome to students studying towards the Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS), the Bachelor of Building Science (BBSc) and the Bachelor of Design Innovation (BDI). It includes an introduction to the first-year programmes and a tour.

  • BAS and BBSc orientation session, Wednesday 29 February, 10am–1pm, Lecture Theatres 1 and 2, 139 Vivian Street (Te Aro Campus)
  • BDI orientation session, Thursday 1 March, 10am–1pm, Lecture Theatres 1 and 2, 139 Vivian Street (Te Aro Campus)

We suggest that students also attend orientation events, including Campus Coaches.

Faculty of Commerce and Administration Orientation

A welcome to students studying towards the Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (BCA) and/or the Bachelor of Tourism Management (BTM). You’ll meet key staff, learn about the Schools and programmes, and hear about the services. There’ll also be time to chat to lecturers and senior students.

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) Orientation

This is the orientation for all students studying towards the Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Teaching (BA/BTeach) or Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) (BA/BTeach(ECE)). This welcome to Victoria’s largest faculty will give you an introduction to how the Faculty Student Administration Office can help you. You’ll also hear first-hand experiences from current students. After this you can continue to talk with Faculty staff and lecturers in the Maclaurin Foyer.

  • BA, BA/BTeach and BA/BTeach(ECE) orientation session, Thursday 1 March, 1.30pm–2.30pm, Maclaurin LT 103, 101 and 102
  • BA/BTeach (Primary and Secondary) students should also attend a second orientation session specific to students intending to teach, Thursday 1 March, 3–4pm, Kirk LT 301

A welcome to Science and Engineering for all students enrolling in the Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Teaching (BSc/BTeach), Bachelor of Biomedical Science (BBmedSc) and Bachelor of Engineering (BE). Meet staff who teach the first-year courses and find out how to get the most out of lectures, tutorials and labs.

New Zealand School of Music (NZSM) Orientation

The New Zealand School of Music orientation (for all new NZSM students) is on Thursday 1 March. This will be held at both the Kelburn and Mount Cook Campuses. For more details, check the NZSM website.
