How to Apply

 

You need to make an appointment with one of the Finance Advisers. Allow 30 to 45 minutes. The Adviser will discuss your circumstances and help you complete the application form. This includes a budget which shows your current income and essential expenses.

Applications are submitted every Friday morning to the Students' Finance Committee. This Committee consists of staff and student representatives. Applications are confidential and the Committee is not informed of the student's identity.

What to bring?

You must bring:

  • a recent bank statement or internet banking printout - this should show at least 2 weeks transactions.
  • MyStudyLink account printout
  • If you are concerned about a particular bill, such as phone or power, bring that account as well.
  • If you are applying for assistance with textbooks, bring a quote.
  • For dental work or glasses, it is useful to obtain a quote, this can be discussed with the Adviser.
  • Flat bonds - lease agreement.

What happens next?

By 2pm Friday, a letter advising you of the committee's decision will be available to collect. If the application was successful, a cheque will be enclosed.
