Getting involved in campus life will connect you to a variety of people and groups, which in turn will help build your leadership skills, problem solving strategies, organisational skills and team work. Many employers not only look for people who have expertise in their field, but who also have good relationship building and communication skills.
Groups and Committees
Access Committee
The Access Committee has an annual budget of $50,000 for upgrades and alterations of the University built environment. The aim is to bring existing structures up to current access standards, removing physical barriers for students, staff and visitors with impairments.
The Committee needs your input to address access issues. Whether it be a heavy door, confusing colour scheme, poor signage or inappropriate taps and door catches we want to know. Someone from the Access Committee will look at the site and determine the best way of remedying it.
This is one of the simplest ways students and staff can directly get involved in improving access at Victoria.
When reporting an issue please be specific about the location and what exactly needs addressing, a photo of the site is ideal.
You can contact us to report things you would like the access committee to investigate.

Student and Staff Profiles
Our personal stories are one of the most powerful ways of increasing disability awareness. They contribute to the knowledge and understanding of the unique ways in which people experience disability. The can also motivate others to seek support.
If you would like to share your experience of disability or our service please contact us. We publish student and staff profiles in our publications and on our website.
350 words is an ideal length and photos are always useful.
