Student Counselling Service

Koia nei tā mātou mahi i Te Whare Wananga.  Nā reira, nau mai haere mai i raro i te korowai o te manaakitanga.

Caring for tauira Māori

Being at university can create some challenges, both exciting and difficult. This is especially so if this is your first time away from home, it’s been awhile since you’ve studied, or you’re juggling family, work and life whilst being a student.

Victoria University provides a Student Counselling Service to support students who want to discuss any personal or academic issues that are impacting on their studies or affecting their wellbeing. The aim of this service is to enable you to get support in dealing with any difficulties, stress, or issues that might prevent you from getting the maximum benefit from your university experience. Counselling can assist students in exploring the blocks that are getting in the way of their study.

Within the team there is a dedicated Māori Students Counsellor - Te Kairauhī Tauira with a priority on the needs of tauira Māori and supporting them appropriately.

The Student Counselling Service is available to be that someone you can come to for support whilst at Victoria University.

Me noho tahi, tēnā pea ka tika
Discuss together, then things may come right

Nā reira, tēnā koutou tēnā koutou, mauri ora ki a tātou katoa.
