Confidentiality

The Counselling Service takes your privacy very seriously. We are bound by the rules of the Health Information Privacy Code 1994, and the Health Act 1956 No 65 (as at 26 June 2009). All of our counsellors belong to a professional association and are required to practice in accordance with their associations' Code of Ethics.

Your sessions with your counsellor will remain confidential, unless there is significant concern for your safety or the safety of someone else, or when there is a legal duty to provide health information.

When you register at the Counselling Service, you will be required to read and acknowledge our Privacy Statement which details our committment to your confidentiality.
