Overview

Individual career guidance is available at Vic Careers to help with career planning, decision-making and job application queries.

Professionally-trained Careers Consultants, all members of the Career Professionals' Association of New Zealand (CPANZ), are available for informal, confidential discussions.

They can help with a wide range of queries - from the general exploration of career ideas and the career implications of your subject choices, to details of specific jobs, specialised postgraduate courses, careers information, employer profiles and job-searching techniques.

Drop-in

Have 15 minutes with a Careers Consultant - useful if you have a few questions, need to discuss urgent issues or want to have a CV or application reviewed before submitting it.

Guidance Interview by Appointment

A confidential interview for more complex questions, career planning and decision-making.

If you are unclear about what you want to do, you may be advised to first work through a computer-based guidance tool like 'CareerQuest' or 'Future Selves' or complete a 'card sort' exercise.

Mock Interview

Available to Victoria students and graduates who have an actual job interview coming up. You must have already attended one of the Interview Skills workshops or watched the Interview Skills DVD.

To book a mock interview appointment please contact Vic Careers on (04) 463 5393. You will need to provide your application (your CV and cover letter) and the role description at least two days before the mock interview. You will also need to arrive for the appointment in appropriate interview clothes. Please note: appointments fill up very quickly and we are not always able to fit you in. Contact us for a time as soon as you have been notified of your job interview.
