Graduate Employment
On this page you can explore the employment destinations of graduates who complete the annual Graduate Destinations Survey. The survey reports on the types of employment graduates are involved in after completing their studies. Job titles and types of employment are broken down by subject area and level of qualification and have been edited to give a guide to the range of possible employment options relevant to the subject. Survey summary reports are available as pdfs in the downloads page.
Select a survey year (or the "Combined Surveys' Results") link from the 'Survey/Year' menu at left. This will create a list of subjects which that year's survey respondants took as Majors. Select a subject from that list to view those respondants employment.

Information about studying [subject] at Victoria
Select a Survey
When you select a year from the Select a Survey menu the subjects that responding graduates took displays in the subjects menu which appears below
If you choose a subject and then change the chosen year, the table of results will update to show results for that subject from the newly selected year only.
Selecting a Subject
The list of subjects updates each time a year is selected. It will only show the subjects there are results for in the selected year.
When you choose a subject the table of results will update to show the selected years graduates' employment at the time of the survey
Subject choices are "sticky" meaning if you choose a subject and then choose a new survey year, the table of results will update to show results for that subject still but only show the results from the newly chosen year
Although higlighted subjects are offered at Victoria University, this is not to be seen as a full list of topics offered at Victoria. For a full list visit the Subjects offered at Victoria page.
How to use the study level links and check-boxes
There are two useful aspects to the key:
- The study level link:
To link to the results for a particular study level, click on that levels link in the study levels table, the table will then jump to those results.
- The checkboxes:
Use the key checkboxes to hide or show results from different study levels. For example, clearing the checkbox next to Bachelors will hide all results for graduates whos highest study level was Bachelors. this means you can easily concentrate on results for particular study levels.
Once you start viewing results the key table will only show links for study levels that the results table has results for. Any study level for which there are no results will have the link faded
When you select a new subject or survey, the table will continue to only show the results for those study levels with a ticked checkbox and the links will again update to indicate which study levels have results to link to and which don't.
Searching
The search feature lets you search for a subject from the combined survey results. Once you start typing the search will populate a drop down list of subjects which match what you have entered or which have what you entered as part of the subject name. For example, if you type 'art' in the search field then 'Art History' will show as well as 'Earth Sciences'.
Select the subject from the dropdown list by clicking it with the mouse or highlighting it with the up and down arrow keys and pushing 'Enter'.
