What is Marine Science?

Marine Science is an umbrella term which covers the study of the sea and in particular the biological communities and physical processes within it and on its coasts.

Marine scientists may work in such varied occupations as shellfish breeding, fisheries research, resource management and policy development, physical oceanography, statistics, pollution and water quality control or marine geology.
