What to Expect

We've scheduled teaching time outside of normal business hours on a single evening, to enable you to better integrate work and study.
Each course consists of 12 two-hour classes (first and second trimester). Classes are scheduled in the evenings. You should assume an average workload for each course of 10-12 hours per week, including lectures, tutorials, and workshops. The actual workload will vary from week to week depending upon readings, assignments, and scheduling of workshops. Occasionally workshops may be held on a weekend. Remember to keep mid-year and end-of-year examination periods free.
Since there are only 12 classes per course, attendance at each class is very important. Your lecturers will generally assume that you have read assigned material in advance and come to class ready to ask and answer questions about the topic of the week.
Strong interpersonal skills are an essential component of being a good manager. For this reason, much of the course work throughout the certificate programme focuses heavily on group exercises and project teamwork. As well as providing a supportive and collegial atmosphere, this also enables you to tap the collective knowledge of other participants, who will come from a broad range of backgrounds.
Naturally, you will require a high level of motivation and commitment to complete the Postgraduate Diploma.
