Post Experience Programmes
Welcome to our Post Experience Programmes
Victoria University’s School of Government was launched by the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Helen Clark, in September 2002 and is ‘the’ New Zealand place to study public policy and public management.
The School of Government at Victoria University is the only New Zealand university partner with the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG). ANZSOG is a consortium of governments and universities which offers an Executive Masters of Public Administration programme (EMPA) and an Executive Fellowship Programme (EFP). Entry into these programmes is by selection from public sector agencies.

Admission Criteria
Successful applicants to our Post Experience programmes usually have a Bachelor's degree (in any discipline or field) and at least two years of relevant work experience. Applicants without a Bachelor's degree but with significant professional experience may be admitted to the programme at the discretion of the Director of Master's Programmes.

Please consult the Victoria University Calendar for the definitive admission criteria.

Public Management and Public Policy courses (with the exception of some research courses) are each worth 15 points. There are also a number of other fees due at enrolment, which are compulsory for every student. You can consult the Fees Calculator to find out how much your total fees will cost.
All fees are due by the Friday before your course begins or as detailed on your Fees Assessment Form. If fees are not paid by the due date, a late payment penalty will be charged to your account.
