Profile
Dr Ausaga Faasalele Tanuvasa joined the Health Services Research Centre (HSRC) in February 2007. Ausaga previously worked as a Senior Lecturer at Tertiary Education. She has held senior positions for a number of health services and has been a consultant and advisor to government departments, including NZAID and ACC. Her PhD in nursing education at Victoria University of Wellington focused on faa-samoa epistemology called ‘Samoanisi’ to explore the ‘Place of contraception and abortion in the lives of Samoan women’. Her role with the HSRC is to create a vibrant Pacific research capacity in the Centre. She has an interest in health projects that promote health outcomes for Pacific people, especially child health.
